I really am alive!

So, the month of December has been crazy to say the least. I can't believe that it has been a month since i last blogged. I am alive, I promise. I will update all 'yall as soon as I get a moment, just wanted to let you know that I am still here.

My confession

So I am totally addicted to the Bachelor and I can't believe what happened on the final show! What was Brad thinking? I personally wanted him to choose Jenni, but to not choose either her or Deanna is outragious. I actually yelled at the tv, like he can hear me or something, and then was depressed the rest of the night. Am I the only one who is distraught over this, or is there anyone else out there who can share in my grief? He needs to get married and make more children who look like he does! Wow... how can he be so beautiful, and yet so stupid?

So what 24 year old gets pink eye? I thought that was a little kid thing? Apparently not, because yours truely has it. i guess it comes with the day job. Green gunkies in your eye is not fun and definately not attractive in the morning (derek gagged). So I am at home on a friday instead of at work because I am not allowed to be there. Derek told me to look on the bright side... 3 day weekend! It still is no fun and i can't wear my contacts for a week, so I get to sport the cool glasses look for the next 5-7 days. Hip Hip Hooray for me.... not!

For Derek's birthday, his dad so kindly bought him "his new baby"! Just for the record, I hate guns. I hate everything about them and what they represent. But when it was a gift, I couldn't make him take it back. Derek was convinced that he was going to get me to like his new toy by having me appreciate it "the marine way". I have to admit, that after a couple of rounds of getting knocked on my butt, I got used to the thing and am actually really good at it. Have you ever seen 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith'? Yea, I am kind of like that :)

Road Trips

Yea for road trips! We got to spend this past weekend driving to Mesquite, Nevada to attend Derek's annual Marine Ball. It was a really fun, short trip, but I enjoyed the long car ride with Derek. He is so funny and I laughed the whole ride. We got to wake up early Saturday morning and drive all day to make it to Mesquite by 3, to get ready and dolled up, to be at the ball by 4:30. Ate, danced, walked around and basically looked freaking awesome all night and then drove back to Utah the next day. Busy weekend, but it was a fun way to spend time with Derek (who by the way, looked way hot in his uniform... look below at picture)

I don't know how to change the picture around, and that makes me seem like a total blonde, but I guess if the shoe fits... We got to drive through my "home" on the way home from Nevada and stopped to take a picture before we entered Utah. I waved to everyone! Did you see me? :)

For those of you who didn't know, my cute husband is a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps and he totally is the best looking one too! The ball was held at the Casa Blanca Hotel and Casino. It was super fun to get all dressed up in a prom dress again, and have a really cute Marine as your date!

Happy Halloween

The best part about my job is that I get to dress up for Halloween. It is actually required. Yea for being able to be a princess again! All my little girls loved me and thought it was so cool that Miss Missy was Cinderella too! Look out Disneyland... here I come :)

1 year!

Today is our anniversary! We made it through the first year, and wow! what a great year it has been. Hip Hip Hooray for awesome husbands :)

Sad Times

My sad news of the week is that a very important person in many people's lives was killed in a car accident this week. Tim Filichia was coming back to Utah after visiting his family and was involved in a car accident. He will be greatly missed and many prayers go out to the Filichia family for their great loss!
